IIT Madras’ Entrepreneurship Cell organized an E-Summit from April 1 to April 3. The highlight of this summit being the Startup Expo, for which they have invited startups with unique products to display them and pitch to the judges.

E-Cell of IIT-Madras invited Mr Shyam Sekar S, Founder and Chief Mentor @ Startup Xperts Business Consulting, to be the part of the mentoring team as well as on the judge panel. Shyam quoted, “There were 12 ideas that was pitched to us, and some of them very innovative. These sort of initiatives are needed to boost the entrepreneurship mindset amongst the student community. Very glad that IIT-Madras’ E-Cell have taken up this initiative; more so, it nice to see that this being their first Startup Expo this was well organized. Look forward to being a part of this in future as well”.

Mr Shyam also addressed the entrepreneurs and students on the third day, and delivered a session by sharing critical pointers that can help them build a successful startup.

Startup Xperts was the Digital Marketing Partner for the first edition of Small Enterprise Business Awards, organized by Aspire Media, supported by NDTV Profit/Prime, KPMG and others. This initiative was launched to recognize startups and small businesses and recognize their performance.

Mr. Shyam Sekar S, Founder and Chief Mentor @ Startup Xperts, was also one of their core Jury members in shortlisting, evaluating various startups and small businesses on numerous parameters.

At the event, he delivered a Keynote speech and was also felicitated by the SEBA team on stage. The event is scheduled to be aired/telecast in NDTV on 18-19 Mar 2017 for 30 mins on each day.

Startup Xperts was the outreach partner for ‘the talk’ initiative, as they organized ‘Big Ideas to Scale for Startups and SMEs’ at ‘The Feathers Hotel’, Chennai, on 25-Feb 2017.

Mr Shyam Sekar, Founder and CEO – Startup Xperts, was the moderator for one of the most interesting topic on ‘Funding your Growth Strategy’. He was joined by 3 panelists – Mr Sudhir Rao – Founder, IndusAge, Mr K A Srinivas – Partner and CFO, Ventureast, and Mr Vinit Srivastava – Angel investor and Entrepreneur. The session well received and gave excellent insights to numerous startup founders and aspiring entrepreneurs about funding strategies and ways to approach the same.

Mr. Shyam Sekar S, Founder and Chief Mentor, Startup Xperts, was a key speaker on the occasion of the MOP Vaishnav College’s Silver Jubilee Edition of ICCCMIT 2017. This was their third International Conference on Communication, Computing, and Information Technology and held on 3-4 Feb 2017. He also was the judge for their social program initiative for a rural Digital India on their pitch day.

Also, as part of their Entrepreneurship Awareness Program, Mr. Shyam also gave a session on ‘Building successful Startup Enterprises’ on 1-Mar 2017. This program was arranged as part of their Silver Jubilee celebrations organized by Ministry of Entrepreneurship Student Cabinet.

Rajalakshmi Institutions had organized a startup event by name Venture-Pitch. This event drew students who aspire to become entrepreneurs, from across many colleges in Chennai. Shyam Sekar S, Founder and Chief Mentor at Startup Xperts was invited to be their Chief Guest and Judge for this event. This was held at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Tandalam, Chennai, on the 4-Jan 2017.

The event witnessed idea formulation, poster competition, and finally pitch to Chief Guests, Jury, to qualify for prizes. There were many teams that had participated; finally about a dozen teams pitched in the final round and 3 of them won the prizes based on their innovation component, feasibility of their solution, articulation of their pitch and technology as an enabler.
